Experience the quieter side of Nepal's Himalayas on the 12-day Ruby Valley Trek, an immersive journey through the culturally rich villages and beautiful ridges of the Ganesh Himal region. Positioned between the better-known Langtang and Manaslu trekking areas, Ruby Valley rewards travelers with peaceful trails, terraced hillsides, rhododendron forests, mountain panoramas, and heartfelt hospitality.
The adventure begins in Kathmandu before a scenic drive to Syabrubesi. From here, the trail climbs through Gatlang and Somdang to its highest point, Pangsang La Pass at approximately 3,842 meters. With clear skies, this spectacular crossing offers views across Ganesh Himal, Langtang, and Manaslu. The journey then descends through Tipling, Shertung, and Chalise Gaon, continuing to Jharlang and Satyadevi, where everyday village life and local traditions are central to the experience.
Travelers stay in simple local tea houses and home stays during the trek, supported by an experienced guide and practical, well-organized logistics. The premium value of a Gateway Adventure Treks journey lies in thoughtful planning, personal attention, experienced local leadership, and meaningful cultural encounters.
Designed for reasonably fit trekkers who enjoy uncrowded routes, the Ruby Valley Trek combines a memorable high-pass day with authentic Tamang, Gurung, and Ghale cultural experiences. No technical climbing is required, but the remote trail and several long walking days make preparation important.
